About Us
PBS takes pride in being a Canadian manufacturer, designer, and global marketer specializing in best-in-class "bespoke" 2-piece floating carbon ceramic and iron rotors.
Science First
Founded by Michael (Mick) O’Brien, PBS has a deep-rooted commitment to science and material research. With a 25-year history in laboratory sciences, including material sciences and quality control, Mick’s expertise drives PBS to prioritize material science and data in every aspect of our work.
The Back Story
Before founding PBS, Mick led Canadian business units of globally respected instrumentation manufacturers, Olympus & Zeiss Corporation. His expertise in metallic crystallography, elemental analysis of alloys, and failure analysis of finished parts made him a subject matter expert in these fields. Providing advanced inspection instrumentation to premier disc rotor manufacturers and foundries worldwide, Mick became fascinated by the extreme environments rotors endure.
In his leisure time, Mick’s passion for performance driving and admiration for F1’s cutting-edge technologies led him to focus on rotor advancements, particularly in carbon ceramic brakes (CCB’s). Despite the high performance of CCB’s, their exorbitant cost hindered mainstream market adoption. PBS aimed to change this narrative.
Now, PBS is thrilled to introduce our line of premium, custom CCB’s (rotor, hat & hardware) directly to consumers at $CDN5,300 ($US3,800) per pair. Additionally, premium custom 2-piece floating iron rotors are available at $CDN1,350 ($US972) per pair, making high-performance braking accessible to enthusiasts worldwide.
Through innovation, expertise, and dedication to customer satisfaction, PBS is revolutionizing the high-performance braking industry, one rotor at a time.
